This
session examines the progress of public sector reform in Korea over
the past two years and discusses its future agenda. A review of
the reform program initiated by the Kim Dae-jung government first
covers the background of reform, its salient features, and the obstacles
to progress. A discussion will follow on the goals and accomplishments
of the reform effort in the government, public enterprises, and
quasi-governmental organizations. The session concludes with a review
and discussion of the remaining agenda.
