Vito Tanzi

Dr. Vito Tanzi is the Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF. He has served as a consultant for various organizations, including the World Bank and the United Nations. He has published many books and articles on taxation, and edited or co-edited several other books. His major professional interests are public finance, economic development and macroeconomics, but he has also written on tax evasion, tax coordination and transition economies. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from George Washington University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
